Guitar and Amp Service Prices

For acoustic, electric and bass guitars.  Includes adjustment of neck relief (truss rod), nut slots, bridge/ saddle height and intonation.  Cleaning and treatment of fretboard with lemon oil (excluding maple).  Check operation and clean pots, switches and jacks.  Resolder any bad connections.  New strings at additiona; cost if required.

Uneven frets are a common cause of buzzing or choking, where notes don’t play cleanly.  Provided they are not too worn, this can often be remedied by leveling and then reshaping and polishing the frets.  Price includes a setup and service as above.  Final price depends on the number of frets that require attention.

Old frets removed, slots cleaned, fretboard leveled and radius restored as necessary.  New frets installed, leveled and recrowned. Fret ends bevelled and dressed.  Frets machine polished.  Add £30 for stainless steel frets

Replacement bone nut or saddle, hand cut, slotted. Shaped and polished £35

Replacement pre-cut nut or saddle (Tusq, GraphTech, plastic etc) £15 plus cost of nut/ saddle

Control cleaning: control pots on guitars and amps can become crackly and unreliable as they age.  This can often be resolved by cleaning them internally with an anti-oxidant spray.
